For many, their house is a place of fortitude, safety, and presence. The home is often identity manifest, a cavern in this large world that nurtures and protects the amalgamated experience of life.
This house is adorned with George tapestry and frames of Ohafia war dancers. It is here, that we ask that you come sit with us, not silently in the back where our mother and their mother sat pounding yam, but in the front, As we loudly prepare for the celebrations!
In this home, made warm by the hospitality of an Igbo woman, we sit amongst brothers and sisters exploring aspects of cultural discourse, identity, challenge the smallness of spaces and laugh with our elders.
The conversations held in ỤLỌ MM are written in a mixture of Igbo and English to explore multilingual discourse and strengthen the authenticity of conversations.
This is my house, Your house, Our house. Bata Nnime (Enter) !
An Igbo girl, exploring thoughts on culture, femininity, and identity.
Many of these topics will rooted in my cultural heritage, parts of the blog are in Igbo and I urge you to engage, experience and learn
